Senior Music Curator

The Role
NTS is looking for an experienced Senior Music Curator with at least 5 years experience to help drive the platform's evolution. The role combines music curation, content strategy, operations, project management, stakeholder relations, and data-driven decision-making. You will help translate NTS’s editorial vision into a scalable product experience while building editorial frameworks, discovery experiences, and operational processes from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial, Programming & Cultural Strategy
Manage large music catalogues and metadata while maintaining high editorial standards.
Lead music curation and manage listener discovery experience.
Develop programming strategies.
Identify and champion relevant artists, genres, scenes, and cultural movements.
Create innovative programming formats and discovery experiences.
Develop editorial narratives, thematic programming, and cultural positioning.
Connect programming to emerging trends, scenes, and audience interests.
Partnerships & Operations
Act as the key editorial liaison between NTS and external partners.
Coordinate across music, product, technical, marketing, and design teams.
Establish workflows, delivery schedules, and scalable editorial systems.
Manage priorities, milestones, and stakeholder alignment.
Performance
Monitor engagement, listening, and discovery metrics.
Use audience insights and analytics to help build an understanding of what NTS users love; produce reporting and recommendations to support growth and engagement.
Requirements
Essential Experience & Skills
5+ years in music curation, editorial programming, or playlist strategy.
Experience with large-scale content/catalogue management.
Strong understanding of music discovery ecosystems and audience behavior.
Proven project management and stakeholder management experience.
Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform editorial strategy.
Experience developing long-term content, programming, and growth strategies.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of identifying opportunities, launching new initiatives, and driving them from concept to execution.
Deep understanding of NTS, its audience, and editorial philosophy.
Excellent curation, editorial judgment, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to thrive in fast-moving, evolving environments.
Nice to Have
Experience launching or scaling music products or editorial initiatives.
Familiarity with music metadata and CMS platforms.
Experience working with product and engineering teams.
Team management experience.
Broad musical knowledge across genres, scenes, geographies, and eras.
Working at NTS
We are a UK-based company open to brilliant minds anywhere. For candidates based in the UK, this will be a direct, permanent employment contract. For international candidates, the final engagement structure (either full-time local employment via an Employer of Record or a long-term independent contractor agreement) will be determined during the interview process depending on your country of residence.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Hackney, London. For the right candidate, remote work could be considered.
Option to work from home on Monday & Friday
Work in the Dalston, Hackney office on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Flexible start time 9am - 5pm / 9:30am - 5:30pm / 10am - 6pm
